Family Enrichment Classes

Les Sanders will develop a community art program in the Nymore area. Grant funds will be used for materials, program support, and hiring of several art instructors to assist with the variety of art classes.

CLASSES ARE FREE!!! You must register in advance. CONTACT: Les Sanders at 218-556-3521 OR Kathy Sanders at 218-556-0887 to register for these classes. Classes are for adult/child/family, age 10 and up, children must have an adult family member present.  Class size is limited so sign up NOW.  All supplies are provided.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

July 10th, 24th & Aug 7th, 2025 5:30-7:30 pm: “Ojibwe Bracelet Beading” 
When creating, Red Lake artist Martina Isham uses various beading techniques and glass beads to make traditional and contemporary art. She is influenced by her ancestors and enjoys depicting plants, animals, insects and the elements into her finished pieces. 

Aug 21st, Sept 4th & 18nd, 2025, 5:30-7:30 pm: “Beads and Beyond” 
Artist Kathy Sanders will teach wire wrapping, wire weaving, and beading techniques using various colors, types and sizes of beads. 

July 10th & 24th , 2025, 5:30-7:30 pm: “Line and Wash Watercolors” 
Learn a basic watercolor lesson with artist Lily Hadrava to paint a line and wash project on 8X10 watercolor paper. 

August 7th & 21st, 2025, 5:30-7:30 pm: “Paint ‘Loose’ with Watercolors” 
Artist Lanee Paulson teaches a variety of “loose” watercolor techniques to complete a lovely floral watercolor project. 

Sept. 4th & 18th, 2025, 5:30-7:30 pm: “Watercolor Pencil Techniques” 
Watercolor paint the easy way! You will pick your project pattern and artist Les Sanders will teach you how to complete a 9" X 11" watercolor painting using watercolor pencils for different effects.

Les Sanders is a fiscal year 2025 recipient of a Arts Experiences grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
